About this work

In this painting I show how the life of Jimi Hendrix resembled a solo that began out of nothing and ended in an explosion of colour and freedom. Born in Seattle, he grew up in a world full of uncertainty, but with a guitar in his hands he found comfort. Hendrix did not simply play music; he spoke through sound, distortion and silence.
