About this work

Mechanical Balance is an abstract-geometric composition that brings together power, order and movement. The image is built up from crisp lines, rectangles, cylinders and circles that cross and overlap one another like parts of a carefully constructed mechanism. The colours yellow, red and blue dominate and contrast strongly with the neutral, greyish background plane. These primary colours give the work energy and clarity, while the background offers calm and depth.
