About this work

Surreal Vision presents an abstract, almost surrealist composition built up strongly around the motif of the eye. At the centre is a large, round form with a dark core, surrounded by bright paths of colour recalling an iris. The eye seems both to look and to be looked at, giving the work a penetrating and slightly uncomfortable tension. Around this centre lie angular, star-shaped structures pointing inwards, as though enclosing or opening the eye.
