MikoArt-Liquid Gloss®-07FP/Louis Armstrong-120x120cm
As an artist I wanted to capture Louis Armstrong not only as a musician, but as a source of life, colour and movement. For me he is not a still portrait but an explosion of energy that still resounds today. His trumpet is the centrepiece. Not simply an instrument, but an extension of his soul. The gold catches the light as though every note were becoming visible. The butterfly that lands on it stands for freedom and transformation. Music breaking free of the moment and continuing to float, far beyond time.
The American flag in the background is deliberately present but not dominant. It is his origin, his stage, but also the backdrop against which he distinguished himself. Armstrong transcends it. That is why I added the butterflies in vivid colours. They break through the static, they bring playfulness and show that his music lets go of boundaries. I built his face up in facets, almost like a mosaic. That is how I see him: a man of many layers. Joy, struggle, talent and perseverance. Every line, every form carries something of that story within it.
The suit and the red bow tie give him dignity and style, but also a certain lightness. He radiates. Not only as an artist, but as a human being who used music to connect. For me this work is about more than jazz. It is about influence. About how one voice, one instrument, can touch the world. Armstrong did not simply play notes, he gave them meaning. And that meaning is what I wanted to make visible in colour, light and movement.
MikoArt-Liquid Gloss®
The artworks are produced using the most modern techniques and the finest quality materials. The artwork is printed on high-grade Fuji Crystal DP II Ultra HD photographic paper, permanently bonded to a 4 mm thick Alu-dibond support and protected with a 3 mm layer of high-quality Liquid Gloss® epoxy resin. This finish gives the artwork not only an intense colour and three-dimensional presence but also a refined, luxurious appearance. It also guarantees many years of durability and resistance to ultraviolet light. Where a frame or border has been applied to the work, it is integrated within the artwork itself. The gold frame or border is integrated within the artwork and is therefore not present as a physical frame.
