In this painting I express a quiet, warm love shaped by time. We see an elderly man and woman, hand in hand, simple and tender against a weathered wall. Their bodies stand close together, as though closeness had become self-evident after a life shared. The man leans lightly on his walking stick, a symbol of old age and vulnerability, but also of perseverance. The woman stands firmly beside him, gentle but steadfast.
Between them they hold a bright pink candyfloss together, floating above their hands like a cloud of sweetness. Around the candyfloss small hearts dance, playful and loving, like a visual whisper of affection. The vivid colour contrasts sharply with their black-and-white silhouettes and the rough, cracked wall behind them. It is precisely that contrast that makes the message powerful: love stays colourful, even when everything around you is weathering. The wet cobblestones in the foreground reflect the light and reinforce the sense of intimacy and calm. It is as though the world stood still for a moment for this moment.
This is not exuberant, young love but a deep, lived-through love — full of memories, shared silence and mutual care. The painting says that love does not disappear with the years but grows softer, stronger and more meaningful. It is a tribute to growing old together, to a bond that no longer needs words.
