MikoArt-Liquid Gloss®-07FP/EltonJohn-120x120cm
In this portrait I present Elton John as colourful, idiosyncratic and unmistakably himself. His face is constructed from geometric fields of colour that refer to the many phases of his life and career. The large pink glasses are more than a recognisable accessory: they symbolise the courage to view the world from an individual perspective. The butterflies surrounding his head stand for freedom, transformation and vulnerability, recalling his ability to reinvent himself continually without losing his artistic core.
Behind the exuberant appearance lies the story of Reginald Kenneth Dwight, a shy boy with exceptional musical talent who found his voice at the piano. As Elton John he became a global star, yet his journey also included struggles with fame, addiction and identity. His openness, recovery and self-acceptance give the portrait additional meaning. The gentle smile, playful colours and integrated gold frame unite flamboyance with humanity. The work is a tribute to musical imagination, courage and the freedom to become fully oneself.
MikoArt-Liquid Gloss®
The artwork is produced with high-quality materials as a digital painting on Fuji Crystal DP II Ultra HD photographic paper. The image is permanently bonded to 4 mm AluDibond and hand-finished with an approximately 3 mm layer of Liquid Gloss® epoxy resin. This high-gloss finish enhances colour, depth and visual dimension while providing durable protection against ultraviolet light. Any depicted gold frame is integrated into the composition and is not a separate physical frame.
