In this painting I present Albert Einstein not as the remote scientist behind formulae, but as a man full of wonder. His iconic, wild white hair seems almost to move, as though thoughts could not be tamed. The lines in his face are not signs of old age but traces of a life full of questions. Colourful butterflies flutter around his head: symbols of freedom, imagination and transformation. They represent ideas that break free from the gravity of the everyday and move freely through time and space.
Einstein was born in 1879 in Ulm, Germany, and felt himself an outsider from an early age. At school he did not fit the picture; his mind worked in images, not in rules. Yet it was precisely this independence of spirit that would lead him to revolutionary insights. With his theory of relativity he changed our understanding of time, space and energy for good. He proved that the universe is not a fixed backdrop but a living, flexible whole. In the painting his gaze reflects that same wonder: open, playful and almost childlike. Despite his worldwide fame Einstein remained a humanist, a pacifist and a thinker who warned against blind power and technology without morals. He fled Nazism for the United States, where he continued to work for peace, responsibility and the power of imagination. The gold frame around the work underlines his lasting value for humanity, but within that frame he remains free — just like the butterflies. The painting thus tells the story of a man who proved that true genius lies not in knowledge alone, but also in the courage to look at the world with an open, curious mind.

It also guarantees many years of durability and resistance to ultraviolet light. Where a frame or border has been applied to the work, it is integrated within the artwork itself. The gold frame or border is integrated within the artwork and is therefore not present as a physical frame.
