Released Energy

About this work

Released Energy presents a powerful, abstract composition in which colour, movement and depth come together. At the centre floats a spherical object, as though it had broken loose from the background or were being drawn into it. The sphere is built up from undulating, multicoloured bands — red, yellow, green, blue, purple and black — that wind around one another like liquid layers. The surface looks smooth and almost tangible, as though made of lacquered or molten material.

The background repeats these undulating patterns, but smeared out and distorted, so that the sphere seems to influence the space around it. The colours flow into one another in organic lines, comparable to marbling or flowing paint, creating a hypnotic effect. Light and shadow reinforce the three-dimensional feeling, so that the sphere seems to detach itself from the plane and acquires an almost cosmic presence. The whole evokes associations with energy, movement and concentration: a core around which everything turns. The painting feels dynamic and intense, yet at the same time harmonious through the repetition of forms and colours. It is an image that invites the viewer to disappear into it and to keep discovering new details and rhythms.
