About this work

Organic Currents presents an abstract composition of flowing, organic forms that move over one another. Broad, undulating paths in vivid colours — pink, turquoise, blue, green, red and ochre — seem to slide transparently over one another in layers. Subtle, repeating fine lines within each zone of colour give the work texture and a rhythmic depth.

At the centre a soft, dynamic tension arises, where the forms come together and seem to move apart again. There is no fixed beginning or end: the eye is continually led along bends and curves, as though the painting were in motion. The colours flow together harmoniously, without sharp contrast, producing a sense of unity and connection. The whole evokes associations with flowing water, channels of energy or converging lines of life. The painting radiates balance, cooperation and continuous movement, and invites the viewer to go on wandering within it and to keep discovering new relationships between form and colour.
