About this work

Eye of Energy presents a powerful, almost hypnotic composition recalling an explosion of colour and energy around a central eye. At the middle is a realistic-looking iris, sharp and clear, which catches the viewer's gaze directly. Around it a swirling circle of vivid colours unfolds — red, green, yellow, blue and purple — spattering outwards like flames or liquid brushstrokes.

The colours run into one another and create a sense of movement, as though the painting were pulsing or breathing. The outer edges fade slowly into darkness, so that the centre is emphasised all the more strongly. This contrast between light and dark reinforces the dramatic effect and gives the work an almost cosmic or psychological depth. The whole evokes associations with perception, consciousness and inner experience: the eye as a symbol of seeing, understanding and perhaps even consuming stimuli and emotions. The painting is intense, expressive and confronting, and leaves room for interpretation between beauty, chaos and introspection.
