Symmetric Explosion presents a powerful, symmetrical abstract composition recalling a flower or a star-shaped explosion. Numerous oval forms and lines radiate outwards from the centre, creating a strong sense of depth and movement. The background is deep purple and blue, against which bright green tones and accents of orange and yellow stand out sharply.
The repetition of the oval motifs creates a rhythmic, almost pulsing effect, as though the image were breathing or in motion. The radial composition keeps drawing the gaze back to the centre, while the colours and forms at the edges go on vibrating. The whole evokes associations with light, energy and growth, and has a lightly hypnotic optical effect.
The painting radiates dynamism and vitality, but at the same time retains a certain harmony through the strict symmetry and the balanced use of colour.
